How to properly install and maintain the contactor to ensure its long-term stable operation?

Installation of the contactor

(1) Before installing the contactor, pay attention to the following matters.

①Check whether the nameplate and the data on the coil (such as rated voltage, current, operating frequency and load factor, etc.) are in accordance with the actual usage requirements.

② The movable part of the contactor should be flexible and free from jamming.

③ When the contactor iron core pole surface is coated with antirust oil, the antirust oil on the iron core pole surface should be wiped clean before use, so as to avoid the grease sticking and causing the contactor not to release from power failure.

④Check and adjust the working parameters of the contacts (opening distance, stroke, initial pressure and final pressure, etc.), and make the contacts of each pole contact at the same time.

(2) The installation and adjustment of contactor should pay attention to the following matters.

(1) When installing and connecting the wires, attention should be paid not to make the screws, washers, connectors and other parts missing, so as not to fall into the contactor caused by jamming or short-circuit phenomenon. Installation, the screws should be tightened to prevent vibration loosening.

Contactor operation and maintenance

①Contactors should pay attention to the following matters in operation.

a. Whether the load current is within the rated value of the contactor.

b. Whether the signal indication of the contactor is consistent with the circuit state.

c. Whether the operation sound is normal, there is no discharge sound due to poor contact.

d. Electromagnetic coil has no overheating phenomenon, the short circuit of the solenoid ring has no abnormality.

e. The arc extinguishing cover has no loosening and damage.

f. Auxiliary contacts with or without burns.

g. Transmission part of any damage.

② Maintenance: In the electrical equipment maintenance work, should be carried out in conjunction with the maintenance of the contactor.

a. Clean the external dust.

b. Check whether the fasteners are loose, especially the conductor connection part, to prevent loose contact and heat.

c. Check whether the dynamic and static contact position is correct, whether the three-phase closure at the same time, if there is a problem should be adjusted contact spring; such as vacuum contactor, every six months to check the vacuum tube open distance and distance.

d. Check the degree of contact wear, wear depth shall not exceed 1mm, contacts have burned, welded off, must be replaced in a timely manner; slight burns, generally does not affect the use. Clean up contacts are not allowed to use sandpaper, should use plastic file.

e. Measurement of insulation resistance between phases, resistance value of not less than 10MΩ.

f. Check whether the auxiliary contact action is flexible, contact stroke should be in line with the specified value, check whether the contact is loose off, found that the problem, should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.

g. Clean the dust, especially between the moving parts and iron core suction contact surface.

h. Check the iron core of the fastening situation, the iron core loose will cause the operation of the noise increase.

i. Iron core short-circuit ring has fallen off or broken to be repaired in a timely manner.

j. Measure the coil insulation resistance.

k. Coil insulation has no discoloration, aging phenomenon, coil surface temperature should not exceed 65 ℃. 1.

1. Check the connection of coil lead wire, if there is welding, burned, it should be repaired in time. m. Check the arc extinguisher or vacuum cover.

m. Check whether the arc extinguishing cover or vacuum arc extinguishing tube is damaged. n. Check whether the position of arc extinguishing cover has any damage.

n. Check the position of the arc extinguisher for looseness and change of position. o. Clear the gap between the arc extinguisher and the vacuum interrupter.

o. Remove metal particles and debris in the gap of the arc extinguisher.
